Ogallala Quilters' Society Scholarships
Ogallala Quilters' Society offers numerous scholarships to enhance a person's quilting skills. All scholarships are funded from donations.
Scholarship applications are due March15 of each year. Information of the various scholarships and forms to apply are available below.
Amy Armenta passed away in July 2022. A scholarship fund has been set up in her name through Ogallala Quilter's Society. This scholarship will be awarded to a quilter to take a regional class at the OQS Festival in Dimmitt, Texas. If you know of someone who needs help with the cost of a class, please fill out the nomination form. The Board of Directors will select the lucky participant. Nominations are due by March 15, 2024.
This award recognizes quilters who are using quilting to benefit their communities, whether making quilts for those in need of a warm hug, teaching quilting to those who need to learn the skill or meeting other quilt related community needs. Nominations may be individuals or groups, but either the individual or someone in the group must be a member of Ogallala Quilter's Society. The honoree or honorees will be recognized at the Awards Dinner during the 2024 festival and presented with a $100 check to be used as needed for their project. Nominations are due by March 15, 2024.
Jean Giles Dean Scholarship
Jean Dean passed away in October 2016. A scholarship fund has been set up in her name through Ogallala Quilter's Society. This scholarship will fund a novice participant to attend an Ogallala Quilt Festival regional class in Dimmitt, Texas. The Board of Directors will select the lucky participant.
